277 x 220 mm. A view looking along the 300 foot wide Avenida da Liberdade with its tree lined walks forming Lisbon's chief promenade. The avenue leads off from the north-west corner of Rossio Square. The monument in the foreground presumably commemorates Portuguese freedom from Spanish rule. Photograph taken in the 1880s.
