Early Irish Glossaries Project

The Early Irish Glossaries Project (EIGP) is a three-year project (2006–2009) based in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at the University of Cambridge. The EIGP will produce the first modern editions of a number of medieval Irish glossaries with translations and full commentary: Sanas Cormaic (Cormac’s Glossary), O’Mulconry’s Glossary, Dúil Dromma Cetta (the Collection of Druim Cett) and related texts Loman and Irsan.

This space has been created to hold XML files (TEI encoded) containing transcriptions of nearly all manuscripts for each of these glossaries. The files are currently being finalised, and are due for deposit in Autumn 2009.

The content can also be browsed on the project website: http://www.asnc.cam.ac.uk/irishglossaries/
