Description

A .zip file containing mean flow and turbulent quantities resulting from two-dimensional velocity and buoyancy experimental measurements of a vertically distributed wall-source of buoyancy along a vertical central plane normal to the wall. The velocity measurements were obtained using particle image velocimetry (PIV) and the buoyancy measurements were obtained using planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF). The data are given in .mat files. The folder PIV_Experiments contains time-averaged PIV velocity data examining the full height of the wall from four experiments. The folder Simultaneous_experiments contains simultaneous velocity and buoyancy data. In particular, the time-averaged velocity, buoyancy, turbulent fluctuations, the Reynolds Stress and the turbulent buoyancy fluxes. The time-averages of all experiments were performed using 10,000 individual velocity/buoyancy fields for each experiment at a temporal resolution of 100 Hz. The quantities in each experiment file are presented using the same coordinate grid which is given in each file. See readme.pdf for a description of the flow quantities presented, their units and their corresponding names in the .mat files.
