A summary of the research data supporting "Modelling higher trapped fields by pulsed field magnetisation of composite bulk MgB2 superconducting rings." The dataset related to this publication ("Cientanni et al SUST Dataset 20-9-21.xlsx") can be opened in Microsoft Excel and is available at https://doi.org/10.17863/CAM.69446 Sheet 1: Jc Data The Jc(B, T) relationship used in modelling, and shown in figure 3. The experimental data and interpolated/fitted data is provided here. Sheet 2: Experimental Parameters Data describing the experimental parameters, material relationships and values of constants/variables used in modelling. The sheet includes; the calibration factor, the thermal conductivity, specific heat, electrical resistivity, applied pulse data, experimental parameters and physical parameters used. See main manuscript for references, where applicable. Sheet 3: FCM Data Data from figure 5, giving the FCM performance of the bulk. Both the simulated field at the top surface of the centre of the bulk after 10 minutes is given (generated by COMSOL Multiphysics), and the experimental data (see reference [28] in main manuscript). Sheet 4: Pulse Calibration Data Data from Figure 6 and 7 is given here, describing the time dependence of the pulses applied to the bulks in their various configurations and the temperature rise associated with the pulses. Simulated data generated by COMSOL Multiphyics; experimental data from reference [20] - see main manuscript. Sheet 5: Single Pulse Data The plotted data from figure 8, 9 and 10 is given here, describing the simulated time dependence of the trapped field in the bulk during the single pulse application. Simulated data generated by COMSOL Multiphyics; experimental data from reference [20] - see main manuscript. Sheet 6: Double Pulse Data The plotted data from figure 13 is given here, describing the simulated time dependence of the trapped field in the bulk during the double pulse application. Simulated data generated by COMSOL Multiphyics; experimental data from reference [20] - see main manuscript. Sheet 7: Temperature Data The plotted data from figure 11 and 12, describing the maximum temperature of the bulks as a function of applied field and the spatial temperature distribution data. Simulated data generated by COMSOL Multiphyics; experimental data from reference [20] - see main manuscript. Sheet 8: Extension Studies_Cu Layer No The plotted data from figure 14, 15 and 16, describing the trapped field agains applied field, maximum temperature with applied field, and different pulse magnitude applications on trapped field for the copper layer number investigation. Data generated by COMSOL Multiphysics. Sheet 9: Extension Studies_Yoke Only The plotted data from figure 17, 18 and 19, describing B(Hall) at 20 K/40 K, appleid field versus trapped field, spatial field distribution and maximum temperature of the yoke only extension study and investigation. Data generated by COMSOL Multiphysics.
