Description
I am uploading the two images that were my own copyright and used with the paper that I have uploaded elsewhere to the University's repository. The other images in the paper are the copyright of my co-author. I am also uploading other supporting images which are all my own copyright. The paper that these images support is about the treatment today of former WWII labour camps and cemeteries in the Channel Islands of Jersey and Alderney. The paper proposes the new concept of 'taboo heritage' to account for heritage creation that is blocked, censored or prevented by local communities because of its sensitive nature. The paper suggests that while the heritage of labour camps in Alderney is certainly taboo heritage, that in Jersey is making the transition from 'taboo heritage' to 'sensitive heritage'; ie, that heritage creation still goes ahead.
