Supporting data for the publication "Targeting low-cost type-II heterostructures: synthesis, structure and photoreactivity"by Kar et al in Journal of Alloys and Compounds (2017) 698, 944 (doi: 10.1016/j.jallcom.2016.12.167). Filenames relate to figure numbers in the paper or Electronic Supplementary Data. All raw TEM data is in dm3 format. Synthetic and analytical data for SnO2 nanospheres, PbS nanocubes and heterostructured SnO2-PbS prepared in Cambridge in 2015-2016. Analysis includes X-ray diffraction data and Rietveld refinement, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis. Photocatalytic data is presented for each material for the degradation of Rhodamine B in aqueous solution.

Software / Usage instructions

Electron microscopy data can be opened using Gatan Digital Micrograph 3.6.5 or similar. All other data can be opened using Microsoft Excel, Wordpad, Adobe Acrobat Reader, OriginLab Origin or similar.
