Abstract

Ivan talks about what should be done during Tsagan Sar. This is his story: I have noticed long ago that Tsagan Sar always occurs on a warm day. Ground squirrels wake up on this day from hibernation. People should wake up early in the morning, cook tea, and make offerings to gods with tea and biscuits. The food that guests bring should also be offered to gods. The fire in the house should be sprinkled with vodka. One should pray to the sky, the sun and the fire. One should also try to invite old people in order to listen to their well wishes. Children should be sent to their maternal uncles.
