The article examines Pascal's characterization of Augustinian theology as reconciling the contradictions between the erroneous alternative doctrines of Molinism and Calvinism. Augustinianism rejects what is false in each and preserves what is true in each. The article argues that Molina's theory of predestination does not in fact bear out Pascal's presentation of Molinism.
