Abstract
A model between different forms of business organisation is estimated, focusing on the choice to operate as a sole proprietor operating on own account, or as an employer, rather than as a waged employee. The paper shows that spatial locations, marital status, gender, and family structure are key factors behind differences between entrepreneurs and waged workers.
