Abstract

Kamzal is like a corset. It was worn by girls from the age of 10. Its purpose was to suppress the girl’s breast. Even after marriage and after giving birth, women continued to wear kamzal. As a result, many Kalmyk women died of tuberculosis because their chests were either developed wrongly or were weak.
