Abstract

Bembya says the following: The tradition of Shalu was not originally part of Gelugpa. It was a sub-school of the Sakyapa school. Shalu originates in the monastery of Shalu. Therefore, Shalvan-Gegyan, who was a reincarnation of Shalu Rinpoche, was not a representative of the Gelugpa school. To understood all this, one needs to read the texts about the Shalvan-Gegyan’s reincarnations. Kedub Rinpoche, Gyaltsav Rinpoche and Lama Tsongkapa were more Sakyapa representatives than those of the Kadampa school.
