Description

Illustration of Vicente Carducho, Dialogos de la pintura (Madrid, 1633). Depicts painting in a very similar way to Ingenium, with wings on the side of her head. With fame at her side, with a torch and trumpet, painting's poetic imagination is represented as having the power to raise the dead: she brings deceased warriors, poets, and princes back to life. Several other illustrations of the book depict the same personification of Ingenium-like Pictura with wings on her head.
