Abstract
The article describes and analyzes Genizah fragments that preserve evidence of the "interdigitation" of two or more piyyutim in liturgical practice, with the apparent implication that such interdigitated texts were performed polyphonically, with the participation of a choir. It also addresses some points relevant to the process leading to the emergence of the hybrid qedushta (qedushtat kil'ayim).
