Abstract
The video shows the daily tasks undertaken by a Torghut herder family. Purvei says that heavy snow plus unusual cold climate has forced them to feed animals this winter. They need to gather sufficient hay plus corn stalks and maize for this purpose. Purvei and his wife Torgon feed their cows with cornstalks in the morning, and take snow with a plastic bag to the sheepfold for weak sheep. Since there is no water source in their winter farm, snow is the way they get water. Torgon also melts snow to make water for washing.
