Abstract

Lantsai is a young herder showing the treasures that he has inherited, which include leather bags, clothes and a saddle. As he explains, Torghut herders use animal skins to make winter clothes and bags for cereal, meat, and even water. The silver horse saddle is a dowry made for his great-grandmother when she got married. Lantsai lent it to a traditional culture exhibition in Beijing, but when it was returned, its two stirrups were missing.
