Abstract

Ubush began to work when he was 12. Along with his older sister he worked on the construction of the Astrakhan-Kizlyar railway where they carried sand and building materials on a stretcher. All workers there were Kalmyk. The construction site was often bombed by German planes. After work, the starving children used to go food searching.
