A multidisciplinary (MD) approach involves drawing appropriately from multiple disciplines to explore problems outside of normal boundaries and reach solutions based on a new understanding of complex situations. A MD team (MDT) can be defined as a group of health and social care professionals with specialised skills and expertise working in a coordinated way
