dc.descriptionThe Matlab files include flow field data for the surging cylinder presented in the paper. The cylinder either purely surges or surges and rotates at a rotation ratio of 1 and 2.5. The variables within the matlab structure are: OpenAccessData.Time - time in seconds OpenAccessData.PositionX - x-coordinate of cylinder centre in metres OpenAccessData.PositionY - y-coordinate of cylinder centre in metres OpenAccessData.Velocity - Velocity the cylinder is travelling at in metres per second, m/s OpenAccessData.xi - the x-coordinates of the flow field in a mesh grid format, x location of velocity vectors OpenAccessData.yi - the y-coordinates of the flow field in a mesh grid format. y location of velocity vectors OpenAccessData.UField - the u-component velocity field (horizontal direction) in m/s in a mesh grid format. The z-direction of the matrix corresponds to a new time step. OpenAccessData.VField - the v-component velocity field (vertical direction) in m/s in a mesh grid format. The z-direction of the matrix corresponds to a new time step.
