Abstract
Patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) are more likely to experience cognitive decline than healthy
older adults.
1 Problems with cognition affect patients’ ability to work and function independently,
placing them at higher risk of poor quality of life and nursing home placement.2 The evolution of
cognitive symptoms in PD is very heterogeneous1 and impedes the recruitment of relevant participants
into clinical trials. Hence, the means to identify patients at high risk of cognitive deficits would
significantly improve the design and costs of future trials
