Description

The dataset contains raw data supporting the article ‘Solar-driven paired CO2 reduction-alcohol oxidation using semiartificial suspension, photocatalyst sheet, and photoelectrochemical devices’.

This work demonstrates a biohybrid platform composed of cyanamide-functionalized carbon nitride (CNX), an inexpensive, scalable photosensitizer that selectively oxidizes 4-methyl benzyl alcohol to its corresponding aldehyde. The system also incorporates indium tin oxide (ITO) nanoparticles as an electron conduit and biocatalyst support, and the enzyme formate dehydrogenase (FDH) for selective CO₂-to-formate conversion. This integrated semiartificial multicomponent system can be assembled in various configurations for bias-free operation, including (i) a photocatalytic suspension, (ii) a photocatalyst sheet, and (iii) a photoelectrochemical cell.

The dataset is divided into five key parts: 1) Characterizations: Contains all physical characterization of the biohybrid systems, 2) Echem-PEC: Electrochemical and photoelectrochemical characterizations, 3) Colloidal Suspension: Performance of suspension photocatalyst system, 4) Photosheet: Performance of photocatalyst sheet, and 5) Two-electrode PEC: Performance of 2-electrode photoelectrochemical system.

For more details about the experimental procedure, instrumentation, and data collection, see the manuscript and also the txt file CNx-ITO-FDH_DATASET.
