Abstract

In this video, Tsevein Purvei elaborated on the traditional medical treatment of spells. In addition to using specific organs from wild animals and herbs, certain spell practitioners perform compelling rituals, such as licking red-hot iron before blowing on wounds as part of their healing methods. They also engaged in divination and the detection of livestock thieves. However, it was acknowledged that some individuals employed spells for nefarious purposes, such as causing harm by inducing swelling in people’s bellies.
