Abstract

For almost 30 years teams from the Cambridge Archaeological Unit (CAU) have been uncovering fascinating archaeological features and finds at one of the UK’s largest sand and gravel extraction sites, the Hanson’s Over/Needingworth Quarry in Cambridgeshire. Three miles east of St. Ives, excavations at this remarkable location have led to an extraordinary understanding of a prehistoric landscape of settlements, field systems and monuments.
