Description

Emblem from Pierre Coustau, Pegma, Lyons, Macé Bonhomme, 1555. The lenghty explanatory text emphasises the possibility to correct one's nature and ingenium through hard work and affort, just like the old peasant in the image manages to make a barren piece of land fertile by working the earth and adding manure.
