Description
The STRAT-BCS think-aloud interview study aimed to explore the preferences and considerations of individuals concerning the introduction of risk stratification to determine eligibility into bowel cancer screening. Participants completed online interviews that involved working through a discrete choice experiment (DCE) whilst thinking out loud. This involved choosing their preferred screening programmes in a series of questions in which estimation of personal risk of bowel cancer, who is invited for screening, and the programme’s impact varied. The survey is available via the associated record (doi: 10.17863/CAM.99990). We asked participants about the reasoning behind their preferences and how they went about decision-making.
The dataset is the 20 anonymised transcripts from the interviews.
Consent was given by the participants to share anonymised data with other responsible researchers. As consent was not given by participants to share publicly it is not possible to add the data to the repository. Instead, the data are stored within the Primary Care Unit and researchers can request access by contacting PCU_DATA@medschl.cam.ac.uk or Dr Rebecca Dennison (rl423@medschl.cam.ac.uk). Applicants will be required to complete a Data Access Agreement that will indicate the criteria for data access and conditions for research use and will incorporate privacy and confidentiality standards to ensure data security.
