Abstract
Archaeological investigations at Kirtling Towers, Cambridgeshire, produce evidence from the Roman, Saxo-Normal, Tudor and later Post-Medieval periods. These included a double timber revetted bank inside the moat, as well as the remains of Tudor garden walls. Geophysical surveys within the moated enclosure and on the house platform revealed the pattern of the Tudor garden and the position and dimensions of the walls of the original house. This, combined with documentary and pictorial evidence, provided material for a wider discussion of the Saxo-Norman and Tudor occupation of the site.
