Abstract

Maria says that during exile in Siberia Kalmyk families cooked their food together because it was cheaper that way. She also reminisces about how they made various dishes: meat with noodles, segsrdg (dough boiled in water), bulmg (flour fried in butter), and shuurmg (cottage cheese).
