Abstract
Vladimir says that Gakhaev, who was the lord of Bolshederbetovskiy ulus, grew up as an orphan. Later he participated in Russo-Ottoman wars and married the daughter of one of his commanders. The capital of his ulus was Bashanta where he built many building that stand to this day. He was buried along with his daughter on a river bank near Bashanta.
