Abstract

Kota, in this video, explained the political history of Bayangol. Senchin Gegen was one of the most influential individuals among the Torghuts in Bayangol. He made great efforts to develop Torghut society by importing yaks from Tibet and diverting water from the Khaidag Gol to cultivate lands to feed the Torghuts who suffered from the Dungan revolt and plunders. He played the role of Khan in Bayangol when Mantsugjav Khan was young. Additionally, Senchin Gegen constructed the Shar Süm (Yellow Monastery) in Hejing, which has now become one of the biggest religious and tourist legacies of Bayangol.
