Description
Allegory on the faculties of the soul represented in accordance with Cesare Ripa's Iconologia. Intellect is personified by a young man crowned by a flame and about to write on a blank slate, Will as a winged woman wearing a crown, with two winged putti (one angelic, the other evil) whispering in her ears, and Memory as a two-faced woman. Engraving made after a painting by Vouet, commissioned by Marcello Sacchetti.
