Abstract
Sanal says that Kalmyk men utter praises (magtal) in order to cheer themselves or others up. He says a praise about how to skillfully throw a lasso: ‘In a place full of holes and bumps/ In complete darkness where the eye sees nothing/ I am throwing my lasso that is 21 meters long without a miss’.
