Abstract

The video features three distinct blessings rooted in the cultural traditions of the Oirats. The first blessing pertains to the summer pasture, a crucial aspect of pastoral life for the Oirats. The second blessing showcased in the video is a wedding ceremony blessing. In Oirat culture, weddings are significant events, and blessings are bestowed upon the newlyweds to invoke happiness, longevity, and prosperity in their union. These blessings often draw upon traditional customs and beliefs, reinforcing the cultural values surrounding marriage and family. Lastly, the video includes a blessing ritual associated with snuff bottles. Snuff bottles hold cultural significance in Oirat communities for greetings, often used for ceremonial purposes more than actual usage. Overall, the video highlights the diverse manifestations of blessings within Oirat culture, emphasizing their importance across various aspects of life. Additionally, it sheds light on the cultural richness and complexity embedded within blessing rituals, which serve as repositories of traditional knowledge, etiquette, and social hierarchy. However, it also underscores the challenges faced in preserving these cultural and linguistic heritage amid modernization and societal changes.
