Abstract
Bembein Hamtseren, born in the Höhhotguur village in Nilah County, Ili prefecture, is a local Ööld artist who acquired the knowledge of Topshur instrument from her grandmother when she was young. However, her skills were neglected during the Cultural Revolution until the Topshur Instrument Association was established in Nilah County. As a member of the association, she now plays most local songs, including Babirsun, Saburdan, Durdun, Sanan Havhag, Usni Dolgian, Asharal, Guldun Tsagan, Orog Teh, Kazal, Solon Saburdan, Joolen Nidun. Interestingly, although Hamtseren learned various styles and melodies from her grandmother, the styles were unified within the Topshur instrument association in order to play together.
