Abstract

The French AI Action Summit will gather on 10 and 11 February 2025.Ahead of the Summit, a Consultation was opened inviting individuals and organisations from the scientific and academic community, as well as think tanks and civil society, to make written submissions. This paper reproduces the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy’s submission to that consultation, setting out priorities in AI policy for the Summit under three themes: the future of work, the environmental impact of AI, and AI and trust. Overall, it advocates a socio-technical approach to AI policy, examining how AI systems impact people across society.
