Abstract
Alexandr talks about a temple in the village of Godzhur: The temple in the village of Godzhur was destroyed around 1932. According to a man called Mutl, there were about 70 monks in that temple. After the deportation of the Kalmyks, the building housed a branch of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. In Soviet times scientists studied the soil in that area and set up a children’s camp there. I still remember some old monks, including Batr Garya. Monks were highly educated back then. Their mantras were powerful. Today’s monks, in contrast, do not go through such a vigorous training.
