Abstract

This video particularly showcased the embroidery art of the Torghuts in Bayangol. Born into a herding family, Tsagan learned the embroidery technique from her mother and was well-skilled in it before giving it up due to the busy countryside work after she married. Fortunately, Tsagan recently took up her old skill again with the encouragement of her friends who share the same interest. Gradually, Tsagan enrolled in various training programmes organised by the local government and improved her skills by combining them with modern popular embroidery techniques. Hence, she is currently earning money from her handmade products, adding more flexible income to her herding life.
