Description

The deposited data relate to the figures contained within the published manuscript. Data are provided for the three alloys studied, which are characterised by a varying Al:Nb ratio across the series. These data include scanning electron microscopy images (.tiff files) obtained from the alloys in all of the studied heat treatment conditions, in addition to laboratory X-ray diffraction data (.txt files). Transmission electron microscopy images and diffraction patterns are provided with a range of standard image formats (.tiff .jpg and .png). Hardness data are given as comma separated variable (.csv) files. Electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD) data are provided as channel text files (.ctf) alongside band contrast images (.tiff). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) data are provided as text files (.txt).

Software / Usage instructions

Micrographs and other images can be opened using any conventional image viewer (.tiff .png and .jpg). X-ray diffraction, DSC and Hardness data in .txt or .csv files can be opened with any notepad, text reader or spreadsheet program. EBSD data in .ctf format can be opened using the proprietary Oxford Instruments HKL CHANNEL5 software. An open-source alternative is the free MTEX toolbox for MATLAB (https://mtex-toolbox.github.io/index).
