Abstract

IG XII 8.92 is an impressive epigrammatic epitaph in two 6-line halves, composed in the 2nd or 1st century BCE for the family of Cleophon, who were killed when their house on the north-Aegean island of Imbros (now Gökçeada) collapsed in what is likely to have been an earthquake.
