Leonid Khochiev, About My Native Place

Change log

Abstract

Leonid talks about his native land and the importance of living in one’s native land: Old people used to say that one’s native land is as soft as a fur coat. Even If you lie on the ground, it warms you up. When we arrived in this place, there already were many Kalmyks living here. We have stayed in this place since. My ancestors are buried here. Even if I have to leave this place in the future, I will return to perform prayers. There was one woman who had left to Elista, but returned later to die here. Why should one ever leave their native land?
