Abstract

This video is an interview with a Torghut stone sculptor artist in Bayangol. Born and raised in a family whose main speciality is herding livestock, Dorji has been utilising leather, wood, and stone to produce various objects for himself and others. In recent years, he has developed a particular interest in stone art and gained popularity by making shoe sculptures from stones he collected from the Gobi Desert in Bayangol. The Hejing government has also acknowledged his art and provided a dedicated hall for exhibitions and training.
