Search for CP violation in the phase space of D0 → π −π+π0 decays with the energy test

Abstract
jats:titleAjats:scbstract</jats:sc> </jats:title>jats:pA search for jats:italicCP</jats:italic> violation in Djats:sup0</jats:sup> → jats:italicπ</jats:italic>jats:supjats:italic−</jats:italic></jats:sup>jats:italicπ</jats:italic>jats:sup+</jats:sup>jats:italicπ</jats:italic>jats:sup0</jats:sup> decays is reported, using jats:italicpp</jats:italic> collision data collected by the LHCb experiment from 2015 to 2018 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fbjats:supjats:italic−</jats:italic>1</jats:sup>. An unbinned model-independent approach provides sensitivity to local jats:italicCP</jats:italic> violation within the two-dimensional phase space of the decay. The method is validated using the Cabibbo-favoured channel Djats:sup0</jats:sup> → Kjats:supjats:italic−</jats:italic></jats:sup>jats:italicπ</jats:italic>jats:sup+</jats:sup>jats:italicπ</jats:italic>jats:sup0</jats:sup> and background regions of the signal mode. The results are consistent with jats:italicCP</jats:italic> symmetry in this decay.</jats:p>
