Abstract
Rimma recounts a legend about a girl called Tsagan who was abducted by a monkey while she was collecting dung for fuel on the steppe. The monkey hides the girl in its dugout and looks after her. One day the girl manages to run away, but as soon as she reaches her house she falls ill. The reason for her illness is the death of the monkey who dies of sadness, looking for her.
