Abstract
A trench was dug in the lawn in front of St John’s College Chapel, Cambridge, in November 1991. This was in advance of pipe laying by Granta Backbone Network as part of the archaeological monitoring of the project. Early walls were uncovered which are believed to be the east end of the infirmary, dating to the thirteenth century. Additional structures were also discovered which were not previously recorded on early plans of the College buildings.
