Abstract
In this presentation, I ask how nine years after the 2011 Fukushima disaster public authorities and scientific research communities respond to citizen-led, data-driven radiation monitoring practices, both in Japan and elsewhere. Using qualitative methods, I shed light on opportunities and challenges that emerge in developing possible fruitful collaboration pathways between citizen scientists, decision makers, and formally-trained scientists working in/on radiological protection.
