Description
210 x 158 mm. A finely composed study of aboriginal fishermen, showing three men in a small dug-out canoe, one of whom holds a spear, while others stand or sit on a tree trunk which juts into the river. To modern eyes, a perhaps over-elaborately posed scene, it is however a fine genre photograph each element of which is carefully balanced within the whole. Photograph by Charles Bayliss (stamped in relief on corner of print).
