Description

This dataset contains the data from numerical simulations used to plot Figures in Gilmore 2020 - CO2 Dissolution Trapping Rates in Heterogeneous Porous Media. The numerical simulations were performed in Matlab R2018b using a sequential iteration approach, and the results exported and saved as .txt files. The data within each .txt file can be plotted to reproduce each of the figures in the main manuscript. Individual descriptions of each data file: 1) Fig2.txt: Dimensionless length of single CO2 finger and fraction of CO2 dissolved against dimensionless time. 2) Fig4.txt: Dimensionless length of multiple CO2 fingers and fraction of CO2 dissolved against dimensionless time. 3) Fig5a.txt: Dimensionless length of CO2 fingers against dimensionless time, varying beta. 4) Fig5b_alpha0.txt, Fig5b_alpha001.txt, Fig5b_alpha01.txt: Maximum fraction of injected CO2 dissolved at steady state as a function of beta. File names contain the value of alpha used to calculate data. 5) Fig6_01.txt, Fig6_1.txt, Fig6_005.txt: Length of CO2 finger (m) and Fraction of CO2 dissolved against time (s) for Salt Creek field. File names contain the width of high permeability layer used to calculate data (0.1m, 1m, 0.05m) .
