Abstract

Urtnasun has worked for over 30 years in the Mongolian school in Nilah County, Ili prefecture. In 2016, when Nilah County became the base of the national Epic Geser in China, Urtnasun, along with three other locals, established the association of the Epic Geser within the County. Prior to this development, there were two other inheritors of the Epic Geser, Luirev Lam and Gonchig, who were well known not only to the local Öölds but also at the national level. Urtnasun acquired abundant knowledge of the Öölds’ history, culture, and the Epic Geser. Starting in 2016, as Urtnasun explained in the video, they convened Epic Geser singers able to recite more than ten chapters and officially registered them as prefecture-level Epic Geser singers. In addition to these activities, I created a group on the WeChat platform and taught over ten chapters of Epic Geser. After Covid-19, our platform has become more active. Through this platform, we periodically organize online competitions.
