Abstract
Yefrosinya says that during World War II when the Red Army liberated Kalmykia, her grandmother, Vankina Burakysh Byurbeevna, sheltered a Mongolian monk in their house. The monk read religious texts and taught Efrosinya, then 9, Mongolian prayers. Now, 85, she says that she has already forgotten the Mongolian prayers.
