Abstract

The video also explored the noble history of the Torghuts in Khar Us. According to the interview, Boroldu discussed that the year of 1949 is the end of the previous political regime. Minchin Wang, the father of Manai Wang, studied abroad during the Republican era (1911-1949) and went to the United States via Taiwan when the CCP came to Khar Us to establish the new regime. Minchin Wang's daughter, Dewa Minchin, returned to Khar Us in the 1990s and scattered her father's ashes in his hometown. Although Minchin Wang instructed his son Manai either to become a Buddhist figure or an ordinary herder, distancing himself from his aristocratic roots, the Torghuts of Khar Us strongly suggested and eventually reinstated Manai until the CCP dismissed him. Adding to this political shift, the demise of the previous regime also epitomised by the aristocratic family’s biological end as Manai Wang, although married two women, was no male descendant to heir his rule.
