Description
Emblem for Guillaume La Perrière, Morosophie, Lyons, Macé Bonhomme, 1553. "Planta rigata velut mediocri crescit ab unda, Et perit effusa quaeque rigatur aqua: Sic animus nimio vexatus saepe labore Concidit, hunc placidus sed labor usque iuvat." (All plants grow if irrigated with slight water, and die if heavily watered: so the spirit, if tortured by too much work, collapses, while peaceful work always helps.)
