Matlab code for "Mitigating greenhouse gas emissions from end-of-life polymers"

Description

The Matlab code is to evaluate the greenhouse gas emissions of different end-of-life treatment methods of waste polymers.

Please use the following files to calculate different scenarios:

  1. BAU: whole_BAU_Full.m
  2. Landfilling scenario: whole_BAU_landfilling_Full.m
  3. Incineration with 100% energy recovery scenario: whole_BAU_Incineration100Energy_Full.m
  4. Incineration with current energy recovery mix scenario: whole_BAU_IncinerationWoEnergy_Full.m
  5. Mechanical recycling scenario: whole_mechanical_recycling_GHG_Full.m
  6. Chemical recycling scenario: whole_chemical_recycling_GHG_Full.m
  7. Recycling + landfilling scenario: whole_mechanical_chemical_landfilling_GHG_Full.m

To calculate the results for the decarbonized production and conversion scenarios, you need to modify the code:

  1. Go to a file named Emission_factorsV3.m

  2. Change lines 326-329 to: %EFproduction{i}=EFproductionZhengNow; %EFconversion{i}=EFconversionZhengNow; %EFproductionrand{i}=EFproductionZhengNowrand; %EFconversionrand{i}=EFconversionZhengNowrand;

  3. Run the previous files for different scenarios such as: whole_BAU_Full.m, whole_BAU_landfilling_Full.m.
